Six Pack

No. Not THAT kind. The kind I've been working on for the last month. And for me, it's not just the workout that works my abs; it's the whole process of trying to work out that's a work out.

Because as soon as I lay my mat down, the buzz amongst the dogs start. I can't hear it; only the dogs can - but I can see it coming.

As soon as I'm on the mat, THIS is what I see:

Hey Kody! It's time!!!

p.s. I've given up on trying to focus. And the last picture looks like spin art - which contains the word 'art'.

Chores

Kody is not very helpful to me when it's time to clean his house. In fact, he makes sort of an effort to inhibit my intentions.

I was getting ready to clean the kitchen floor, which means sweeping 3 times THEN mopping. I had to BEG (again with the begging!) him to get out of the kitchen. I tried all the tactics: "wanna go swimming? Cookie? Kitty? Cigarette?" to no avail. Finally I just went in and booted his ass out with my foot.

When i came back from the garage with the broom, I find the little bastard, relaxing himself, with just a liiiiiiitle of himself on the floor.

Jealousy...

In case I haven't told you, Kody really is a prick. I love him to death; but, he is not a very loving companion. When I'm lonely and need a hug, I will BEG him to come to me...99% of the time he doesn't, so I just get up and beat him and that's kinda the same thing; it releases emotion.

So when I watch tv, I'd love it if he'd lay by me on the couch; but, again...I have to BEG him to come up. and 99% of the time he won't. however, when I have Betsy here, well...i barely have to utter her name and she's right beside me.

Last night when I watching my time-to-wind-down shows, I called Betsy up on the couch. Without hesitation, she's there. About 15 minutes later, I got up to go in to the kitchen and Betsy follows me. When I got back, Mr. Jealousy had a change of heart(sorry for the focus)

Kody as a puppy...

Kinda cheesy taking pictures of pictures in a photo album; but, Kody was born in the day of actual film...

This is him with his belly full of worms :(

and attacking the nasty, hurty brush...

Here's a habit he started young and never outgrew; his love of TOYS!

Here he is in a German restaurant in Portland, Oregon. I snuck him in. When they're cute like that, you can get away with it.

This is one of MANY psychotic looks this dog was naturally good at. And my favorite time: nap time!

Here's how children learn from their mommies...

Kody is part malamute and he absolutely adores the snow. I'd give anything to have a large mansion in Tahoe with a huge pool. So would Kody....

The end. Or is it...?

Ew.

Kody has old man hair...

It has been figured out that Kody does his sick act randomly. When I come home, when it's time for bed, etc...If I ignore it he gives up.
very human, that boy is...

uh oh...

Kody has backtracked. When I came home today, I heard a chirp and he laid his head down low. So I gave him another Rimadyl and a muscle relaxant. He was fine the rest of the evening; but, when all his witnesses left, this is what I got:

he NEVER not lays on the bed...say a prayer, my Kody friends...

YAY!

I can mess with him again!

Kody Status

When Kody is sick, he's a big baby. Like his mom. And he whines alot which, even though i feel sorry for him, is irritating.

I took him to the vet monday because he literally could NOT lift his head. He even left about 10 kernels of food in his dish and that is just plain unheard of. THAT worried me.

The vet pushed and pulled his head and everytime he'd scream, I'd scream a little too. I'm not a strong person when anyone I love is in pain. I'm surprised the vet didn't ask me to leave. But what she did say that I found funny was that it is hard to tell when a malamute is in pain becuase they are very vocal; they'll scream if they hurt and they'll scream if they think they're going to hurt.

I also told her I just wasn't sure how much he's hurting or if he's just acting to milk my guilt for exercising him too much. She said that's highly probable becuase dogs are brilliant that way.

His amount of whining is winding down; but, he whined ALOT this morning when I tried to sleep in. So I white trash yelled at him a few times and then gave up. I asked him if he wanted to go to Home Depot and then Starbucks and that head, that could barely move earlier, snapped up and sideways to say "Hell yes!"

I think he'll be okay...

Crap.

Kody overdid it with exercise Sunday (very unlike his mommy) and is VERY off his game. he can't lift his head and screams bloody murder whenever i move him or he moves.
although last night he managed to jump all the way up on my bed with not so much as a whimper.
anyway, i'll leave you with an old pix. This is Kody and Betsy in Mendocino where they LOVE dogs and allow them in the pubs. Kody loves pubs. (VERY much like his mommy)

Crazy Eyes Dancing Kody...and Instigating Betsy

Kody is always the innocent one...sitting there, adoring his mommy while she watches her shows. But Betsy will come up and stand behind him, staring...boring holes in the back of his head until he can resist no more.

I love to capture their fight scenes. They are pretty rare as Betsy was a rescue and I'm not sure she ever played with a dog before so she doesn't really know how. Couple that with a hundred pound, overly-excited bohemoth and ...let's just say they don't last very long.

This is his SNOW BOARDING pose...hip, ain't he?

Happy Friday everyone! (all 5 of you!) We'll see you next week! xoxoxo

American Idol

While I was capturing moments of Kody's badness for his blog yesterday, a fire truck went by. I love it when that happens....
He's very soulful.

On another note, does anyone have any idea what this could be?
the 2nd pix is to show you it's on his lower lip. Robin? Know any veterinarians? Carrie?

Pieces of Kody

I think of him when I do laundry,

I think of him when I walk around in my garden / chore flip flops

I think about him when I look to prepare said garden and wonder 'how does one fill a hole to china?'

I think about him when I realize where my peanut butter disappeared to

Or that mysterious bag of chips...

I think of him when I look at my remaining carpet

And random ball spots all over my walls...

And I think of him because of the MANY times he makes one of my shoes disappear; but, fuzzy or not...

He IS my favorite boy.
